We here at the ARC have been working to increase our social media presence. One of the biggest platforms in social media is Twitter. Evaluators and other professionals are using Twitter to promote themselves and learn from others. It’s a great way to stay updated and connected. We recently attended the 2017 AEA Conference in Washington DC and discovered that many evaluators were using #Eval17 to tweet about the conference. As evaluators, we found ourselves wanting to know a little more about this phenomenon.
To satisfy our curiosity, we set out to pull data from Twitter using R and a couple Twitter related packages. Soon we had a spreadsheet with information detailing over 2800 tweets using the conference hashtag. We did a bit of exploring and put together the included infographic!
Not on Twitter yet? Here’s a post from Deven Wisner with tips and tricks on how to get started on Twitter.
